Most pictured girl becomes bride

Here’s a photo from the March 7 1928 edition of the Toronto Daily Star of a fashion model about to get married.

(This image has been edited – the white circle at the right was a photograph of a train that went with another caption, and the caption for this image has been made larger to be easier to read.)

I couldn’t find much on Dorothy Smart or Edward L. Bill. I found an Edward Steichen photograph from 1924 for which she was the model, and I also found a reference to Mrs. Edward L. Bill in a 1948 New York Times article. I also found an obituary for their daughter, who was born in 1929 and passed away in 2010.

Jean Patou, the French fashion designer mentioned in the caption, has appeared in this blog before.
